Unable to access Business Central Environment

 

Problem Description:

A user is unable to access their Dynamics Business Central environment even though they have the correct permission set and the relevant licence assigned.

 

What cause’s this issue:

When the user licence and permissions where assigned, the back end servers did not fully action the update.

 

Possible work arounds:

You can reset the permissions for the affected user and re-establish the connection by completing the following three steps;

  • Connect to the environment as a super user,
  • Navigate to the users page, select the affected user and press more options,
  • Press actions and then *Restore User's Default User Groups*.

This will then reset the users groups and assigned licences. To ensure the environment is picking up the correct licence for the user please;

  • Connecting to the environment as a super user,
  • Navigate to the users page, select the affected user and press more options,
  • Press actions and then *Update user information from Office 365*

Once this has been completed you will need to update the environments licence plan table by;

  • Connecting to the environment as a super user,
  • Navigate to the users page, select the affected user and press more options,
  • Press actions and then *Refresh User Groups*

Once all of the above has been completed please ask the user to access the environment again
